The "Toy Box"

It has been really crazy around here. Trying to catch up on things after my mom left and now I am trying to get ready for more company coming in for Thanksgiving. I am so pumped that our friends/ex-neighbors Mark and Laura from Georgia are coming for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is normally a hard time for me. Though I do not miss the hustle and bustle of running around to every ones house on that day it seems to be too quite with just us here. Mark and Laura visited us two years ago for Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time and I am looking forward to this visit as well.

Now for the attached pictures. With ALL the toys my kids have it amazes me that they get such a kick out of playing with something like the "toy box". Go figure. As you can see, they dumped all the toys out of the toy box and decided to play in it. This is not the first time I have caught them like this (especially Macey).

Election Day 08

As you all know today was voting day. Scott went yesterday and did the early voting so he could watch the kids today while I voted. I planned on getting up at 6:30am to be at the precinct to wait in line no later than 7:30am hoping to get in and out fairly quickly. As I was laying out my clothes last night Madison asked if she could go with me. My first response was no because she is so hard to wake up in the mornings. She kept begging me to let her go and Scott said to take her that it would be a good experience for her. So we got up this morning, went and got us some hot chocolate and was at the precinct at 7:25. We were number 12 in line and luckily was able to wait inside the door instead of standing outside like I thought we would. Which would not have been great since it was rainy and chilly. We were out of there by 8:10. On the way out the doors Madison said, "that was awesome".

Madison has been keeping up with the Presidential race for a while now. She has been asking me who I was voting for but I would never tell her. She has asked me a billion questions including who I was voting for. I didn't tell her to I showed her the ballot this morning with my marked selection. Madison was McCain all the way. She said she would vote for him because he wants to lower gas prices and that's what our country needs. I asked her this morning if they were learning this stuff in school and she said no that she has been listening to the news with Scott and I. I think it is awesome that she was taking this stuff in and not tuning it out because it might be boring. I can't say that I was very interested in it at her age.

My Mom's Visit

Mom, I'm glad you made it make home safe. Thanks for coming out to visit us for two weeks. I enjoyed it. Thanks for teaching me how to can and I can't wait to try our new trick we found for cake gifts.

I took several pictures of Mom and Raymond but I was afraid to show too many because I didn't want to give away their Christmas Card. This was one of my favorites and I know she wasn't planning on using it so hopefully I won't get into trouble for posting it.

A Princess, A Cheerleader and Hannah Montana

I started getting the girls ready around 4:00 so we could be early and miss the crowd to a Harvest Festival that a friend invited us to. Miss Madison of course wanted to go as Hannah Montana and I was super excited when I found this costume on the Disney online store for $17.99 when it was $49.99 to purchase it in the store. The costume is a little big but I ordered it that way so she could wear warm clothes underneath because it is normally in the 30's here on Halloween. Not this year, it was in the high 60's. I was so glade we finally had a year that we were not freezing our rear ends off. Miss Makaylee went as what else.....a princess. She looked so sweet in her hand-me-down dress that was Madison's five years ago. Though this dress gets worn at least twice a week by Princess Makaylee I saw no reason to purchase something new when she would be tinkled pink to actually get to wear the dress out in public. I need to put this dress away so Macey can wear it in two years. Speaking of Miss Macey, she went as a Tennessee Cheerleader. This was purchased a couple of years ago for Makaylee from her Tennessee Grandparents. I thought she looked adorable in it. The girls had a blast at the Harvest Festival and Madison even won the cake walk. Thanks for inviting us Teri. When we got home it was still pretty early and Madison was dying to go trick or treating in the neighborhood. So off, Madison, Makaylee and I went. Makaylee was very choosy with the houses she visited, they could absolutely not have a single Halloween decoration or she would not go. However, on the decoration free houses she did amazing. She always "tried" to say trick or treat without getting tongue tied, said thank you and waved bye. Needless to say with all the candy they got at the Harvest Festival and trick or treating my kids will be in a sugar induced coma for a while.
