of Christmas. It may be a lot of work but I love doing all those little extras to put a sparkle in the kids eyes. I think Makaylee was the most excited this year…she’s just at that age. Madison was this morning and I was a bit surprised it wasn’t Makaylee. I was just glad I got to sleep to at least 7am. They had a wonderful morning. Loved their gifts. It started snowing as soon as we began opening presents but it soon stopped. I know my peeps in the south is loving all the snow they got today. Unfortunately we had planned a day to DC but Scott woke up with the nasty stomach bug that has hit everyone of us in the past week. So I will be taking the girls to the movies this afternoon.

Then off to check out the stockings and to see if Santa ate the cookies they left for him. But oh were they in for a surprise.
Not only did Santa make a mess eating his cookies. He left snow tracks inside our the house. And the most shocking part was he left his glasses behind. They must have fallen out of his pocket while going back up the chimney. I’m so glad we were able to catch Makaylee’s reaction when she saw the glasses.
Two weeks ago when the local fire department came through the neighborhood beaming their lights and blowing their sirens with Santa…Macey has asked for a fire truck ever since. She was happy Santa was listening.

Santa Let Down
I tried to get Macey to sit in Santa’s lap at the mall the other and she wouldn’t do it. So when Toys R Us advertised that Santa and Jeffrey were going to be at the store this past Saturday I jumped at the opportunity to take the girls in hopes Macey would be less uncomfortable if she were there with her two big sisters.
What a disappointment Santa was. He was one of those skinny fake bearded Santas and you didn’t even get to sit in his lap. They just stood there for photo ops. On top of the Santa, who I would even be frightened of, Jeffery bent down to pat Macey on the back and bopped her in the head. Hard enough that she grabbed the top of her head with both hands. Jeffery felt bad…..hmmm…now thinking back I should have asked for sort of compensation…jk. Anyway, you can tell in the picture how timid she is. Afterwards I took the girls to the mall to visit with Santa there. Just as I had suspected, Macey clung to Madison for dear life. Glad I didn’t pay $14 bucks for a 5x7 kodak moment.
The positive we got out of the experience was the girls got gingerbread cookies to bring home and decorate. Madison and Macey whipped the icing and candy beads on theirs like the end of time was coming. Makaylee however took her sweet time and decorated her cookie the correct way….my little perfectionist.
S is for SHINY SHOES
Makaylee had a dentist appointment today that sadly consisted of correcting some of that ugly plaque that gets on your teeth known as a cavity. They gave her nitrous oxide, at my request, before giving her the shot to num her gum. She was such a big girl through the whole thing. It’s kind of funny because on the way home she said she didn’t like doctors just dentists because doctors give shots and dentist don’t. Sweet little thing has no idea a needle even touched her gum.
I bought Makaylee these black patent leather shoes a couple of weeks ago to wear to church. She calls them her shiny shoes and has been itching to wear them to school. She tries to sneak them into her attire that she always lays out the night before school. She comes home and puts them on and wears them around the house. A few moments before these pictures were taken she had brought an outfit downstairs to get my approval for school. I gave her the ok for the outfit but not the shoes. Of course she pouted like the world was getting ready to end. Next thing I know she is curled up on the couch asleep,with shoes on and I’m quite sure of visions of shoes dancing in her head.
O’ Christmas Tree
I was itching to get out the Christmas decor and it wasn’t even Thanksgiving yet. I love how the kids act like they have hit the jackpot when they go through all the totes of decor. I figure they won’t always care about decorating the tree so I better soak it in while I can. So yes, Christmasfiying the house the second week in November was a little early but I love it!
We have had a nine foot tree for several years now and let me tell you that thing was booger to put up. There was no moving it once you put it together. However the house we currently live in only has eight foot ceilings. So off to Wally World I went and purchased this little six foot tree. Scott made fun of it the entire time we were putting it up but I think it’s cute. In fact I think I like the smaller tree verses the bigger one.
It was really hard trying to get some good pictures of three tornadoes running around in different directions.
This is what the tree looked like when the girls got done with it. Do you like how Macey hung all those ornaments around the bottom. :0)
